I finished seven totes this week and am excited about starting some new aprons and Lulu’s dress of course.
Over the fourth I made a light fruit dessert for a bbq with friends.

Well, it’s about as light as I get with a dessert. Fresh whipped cream layered with strawberry puree, strawberries, blueberries, and broken up meringue stars. The meringues melted pretty quickly so next time I think I will make them bite size so I don’t have to break them up.
We also had some friends over on the 3rd for pulled pork. Knowing we would be spending 12 hours minding and mopping the shoulder, I went for an easy dessert. My intent was malted milk ice cream for the kids and pomegranate sorbet for the moms and dads, but the adults decided mixing the two would be an even better idea.

pomegranate sorbet
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup water,
3 cups pomegranate juice
Mix all ingredients together in a large saucepan. Big to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature and refrigerate until well chilled. Process in ice cream maker.
